Terms of service

These terms describe how booking and travelling with Elbrus Expert works. Please read them before you confirm a trip.

1. Booking process

1. Request. You send a booking request through the website. It does not require payment and does not guarantee a place.
2. Confirmation. We confirm availability, the route and the dates by email.
3. Deposit. To secure your place you pay a deposit. The amount is stated in your confirmation.
4. Final payment. The remaining amount is paid before the trip starts, by the date given in your confirmation.

2. Prices

Prices are per person in euros and include only the items listed on each tour page. Anything under "Not included" is paid by you.

3. Cancellation and changes

If you cancel, the refund depends on how long before departure you tell us. Earlier cancellations receive a larger refund. The exact scale is stated in your confirmation. We may change an itinerary or cancel a departure because of weather, safety or too few participants; in that case we offer alternative dates or a refund.

4. Insurance

Travel insurance covering high-altitude activity, medical care and emergency evacuation is mandatory for all participants. You are responsible for having a valid policy for the whole trip.

5. Health and fitness

Mountain travel carries real risk. You confirm that you are in good health and fit enough for the chosen trip, and that you have told us about any condition that may affect you. The guide has the final say on safety decisions, including turning a group around or stopping a participant's ascent.

6. Conduct

Participants follow the guides' instructions, the schedule and local rules, and respect the mountain environment and local communities.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for events outside our reasonable control, such as weather, natural hazards, border or flight changes.
